Privacy

This page describes how PDFSpry works today. If that changes, this page is updated.

Your documents

Every PDFSpry tool processes files in your browser. The file you select is read by the page that is already open on your device, processed there, and the result is handed back to you as a download.

  • Your files are not uploaded to PDFSpry in order to be processed.
  • PDFSpry has no server-side PDF or image processing.
  • PDFSpry does not store your documents, and there is no document history.
  • Filenames, document contents, extracted text and page images stay on your device.

Results are kept in memory only while the tab is open. Closing or reloading the page discards them, so download anything you want to keep.

No accounts

There is no registration, no login and no user profile. PDFSpry does not ask you for an email address or any other personal details in order to use the tools.

The website itself

The pages, scripts and images that make up PDFSpry are served from our web server like any other website. As with any web server, ordinary technical request data — such as IP address, timestamp, requested page and browser user-agent — can appear in server or hosting-provider logs. That is a normal part of serving a website; it does not include your documents, because your documents are never sent to us.

Analytics

PDFSpry uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure website traffic and page performance in aggregate — how many people visit, which pages they open and how quickly those pages load. A small measurement script is loaded from Cloudflare on each page, and it reports page-level data such as the page address, the referring site, and general browser, device and performance information to Cloudflare, who process it for us.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not fingerprint individual visitors. We use it only for these aggregate site measurements: we have not added any custom events, we do not give it an identifier for you, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or follow you across other websites.

Analytics is separate from the tools. The tools process your documents in your browser, and nothing about them — no file contents, filenames, page images or extracted text — is sent to Cloudflare Web Analytics or to any other service by PDFSpry.

Advertising

PDFSpry does not show ads and does not use any advertising service today. If advertising or another third-party service is introduced later, this page will be updated to describe it before or at the time it is enabled.
